About TSBX

Joshua Duboff is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Sports Business Exchange. His interest in creating a journal for young sports business professionals stems from the completion of his college thesis paper. Duboff is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he received a degree in Sport Management and a degree in Political Science. During his time at the University of Massachusetts, Duboff worked as a student assistant for the Men’s Hockey team and served as the school’s mascot, Sam the Minuteman. During his tenure as mascot, Duboff received many accolades including being named to the 2005 Capital One All-America Mascot Team, Playboy.com Mascot of the Month, and placing in the top 10 all four years of college at the NCA Mascot Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL. Upon his unveiling as the mascot, the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching Band made Duboff a Honorary Band Member.

About The Sports Business Exchange:
The Sports Business Exchange (TSBX) is a collection of articles written by young sports business professionals. Young professionals have a unique view on the rapidly changing and dynamic sports industry. TSBX is a forum for intellectual articles on issues and concerns in the world of sport business. These articles are written strictly by young professionals in the sports business industry who often otherwise lack a platform for writing articles on current events. This journal is an opportunity for professionals who are just starting their careers to express their insights on the sports business industry. Whether it be an article about sponsorship, marketing, media, professional sports, collegiate sports, sport finance, player representation, venues and facilities, or a variety of other sport business-related topics, The Sports Business Exchange is the place for young sport professionals to get their articles, and themselves, recognized.

The Sports Business Exchange is now accepting article submissions. To submit an article for consideration, fill out the TSBX Submission Form. Only articles submitted by young sports business professionals will be considered for publication.

Mission:
Long before TSBX was created, the Founder of the journal wrote a fifty page thesis in his senior year of college on Athletic Administration. After the paper was well received by his professors, he decided to try to have his work published so that it could be read and discussed by like-minded individuals across the country. After several submissions to well known sport-focused publications, his article was never published.

In the ever-changing world of sport business, best practices that were integral to the industry thirty years ago are becoming dated. The foundation from which the Business of Sports grew cannot be ignored or forgotten. They are important to learn and study. However, from social media and viral marketing to PSLs and medial rights packages, young sports business professionals have grown up in a completely different world than their bosses and their boss’ bosses. Therefore, the was a need for The Sports Business Exchange and it was created.

Mission:
The Sports Business Exchange (TSBX) seeks to be an online article submission-based journal where all publications are written by young sport business professionals. TSBX will be a forum for discussion between young sport business professionals. TSBX will provide relevant and interesting academic articles that are of interest to young sport business professionals.
