The New Orleans Saints and Mercedes-Benz announced Monday that they have reached a 10-year naming rights agreement for the Louisiana Superdome. The arena will be renamed the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The Mercedes Benz Superdome has hosted many prominent sporting events over the last few years. Its reign as one of the premier stadiums in the country will continue as the Louisiana Superdome will host three national championship sporting events in the next sixteen months. The 2012 BCS Championship Game, 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four and the 2013 Super Bowl are all slated to be played in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The stadium also regularly hosts the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl and the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The Tulane Green Wave football team calls the Superdome home field as well.

The announcement is the second NFL stadium naming rights deal to go down since the season began. MetLife recently signed on for naming rights to the New Meadowlands Stadium, the home of the New York Giants and New York Jets.

This is a huge deal. Good job for in the Saints office. This will help get more fans and supporters.
