Degree Men Gets Tough on Sweat and Odor at Tough Mudder Events

by TSBX | September 14th, 2011

BROOKLYN, NY –Tough Mudder announced today that Degree Men® will be the official anti-perspirant and deodorant for the Tough Mudder Series, helping thousands of men keep their cool during every adrenaline-fueled event this season.

Through sampling and at experiential events, Degree Men® will integrate their new Degree Men® Everest™ stick into Tough Mudder events coast to coast. As the latest addition to the popular Adrenaline Series, Degree Men® Everest™ is a blast from the arctic that offers long-lasting wetness protection and responds to increases in adrenaline by releasing extra bursts of fragrance when you sweat. Inspired by the summit of Mount Everest and emblazoned with adventure expert Bear Grylls’ signature look and autograph, Degree Men® Everest™ is the ultimate piece of adventure gear and helps guys keep their cool for longer and stay at their peak while their adrenaline is pumping.

Degree Men® will provide product samples at Tough Mudder starting lines and arm participants with the odor and wetness protection necessary to stay fresh throughout the action-packed courses.

“When it comes to adventure, guys want the latest and greatest products used by the pros to reassure them that they can take on any challenge with confidence,” said Aaron Calloway Degree Men®. “Having the opportunity to support an event like Tough Mudder is a great way for us to allow guys to push beyond their limits with confidence by giving them the protection needed to attack every adrenaline-fueled obstacle.”

In addition to product sampling, Degree Men® will incorporate the Everest™ stick in a branded obstacle at each event. Outlast Everest – the ultimate adrenaline obstacle – will be an inclined, snow-themed challenge that will push participants to their mental and physical limits.

Later this Fall, Degree Men® will also introduce a Tough Mudder themed consumer promotion incorporating Bear Grylls, the world’s most iconic adventure man and host of Discovery Channel’s Man vs. Wild. Housed on the new Degree Men® lifestyle portal, www.TheAdrenalist.com, the promotion will give Tough Mudder participants a chance to get an inside look at Tough Mudder from Degree Men.

“Tough Mudder is thrilled to partner with Degree Men®. We feel this will be the perfect partnership moving forward to ensure that our participants stay fresh while enduring the rugged terrain and extreme measures presented by each course,” said Will Dean Founder of Tough Mudder.

Founded in 2009, Tough Mudder is the nation’s fastest-growing and most-recognized endurance series with seven remaining tour stops in 2011. Unlike other traditional endurance events or mud runs, Tough Mudder events are constructed by British Special Forces to offer a 10-12-mile trail-running experience like no other. Located outside major metropolitan cities, courses are based on rugged terrain, featuring steep inclines and water hazards, highlighted by 18-25 military-style obstacles testing one’s fitness, strength, stamina, mental grit, teamwork and toughness.

With a unique crossover appeal for high-performing endurance athletes, fitness enthusiasts, risk-taking adrenaline junkies and conservative commoners alike, Tough Mudder events were created to test individual limits in a one-day challenge that showcases the core characteristics of will, intensity, camaraderie and teamwork. Tough Mudder events are not timed and are won by all those capable of completing the course.

Tough Mudder participants have raised over $1.7 million in support of its official charity partner, the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization aimed at helping American servicemen and servicewomen who have been severely injured in combat. The company’s goal is to raise over $2 million in 2011.
