For the second consecutive year, Delta, the official airline of the New York Yankees and New York Mets celebrated the Subway Series with a fan-experience three-day event in Madison Square Park.
Delta Dugout, produced by event marketing agency MKG, encouraged fans to celebrate New York Baseball while connecting with the Delta brand. The event featured appearances by current and former Yankees and Mets players, including Joba Chamberlain and Mets’ mascot Mr. Met. There was also a special performance from former Yankee Bernie Williams and a large screen to watch the interleague series. Around the park were baseball-themed activities such as a batting cage a fast pitch cage, a photo booth and ballpark-style concessions including a special “Delta Dugout hotdog” featured at the Shake Shack.

In addition to the events and activities, Delta had a display of their new business class seating and encouraged fans to check out the new amenities. Delta flight attendants served as hostesses throughout the event offering assistance, registering guests with Delta SkyMiles, and handing out Delta pins, biscuits, pretzels, and peanuts from snack carts that flyers are more accustomed to seeing rolling down the aisle of their plane and not in the middle of a park.
Signs around Madison Square Park encouraged fans use the hashtag “#deltadugout” when tweeting about the event. Delta’s official Twitter account, @delta was tweeting updates from the event throughout the weekend.
Other sponsors on-site including Steiner Sports and Modell’s Sporting Goods.
